N9526J – Damaged by Another Plane

I’m too sick to explain too much but N9526J may have been damaged beyond repair today when another aircraft hit her when trying to land at 33N. The pilot was flying N41568 which is a plane Jeff used to rent as well. The pilot amazingly was not injured. A Cessna Skymaster was also damaged that was parked next to N9526J. It is a sad day!

Sorry to hear about this… You haven’t had a lot of luck storing it at that airport… Glad everyone was ok, but I think you are probably right on the last days comment… Can’t see that being repaired… Gonna be $$$$$ Sorry buddy!!

Hi Barry, nice to meet you. I actually got to see N9526J yesterday! I flew into KONX on my way home from Kill Devil Hills to get fuel. I called David Messina and asked the guy working the FBO to let me into the hanger. You guys are doing an excellent job. I must say that I’m glad N9526J is getting repaired rather than parted out. Please do send the pictures!

My wife and I owned n9526j from 1999 to 2007. We had to sell it because I lost my job. It was a great bird and it flew well. I was saddened to hear a while back it was in an accident, but we’re glad you had it repaired!

Hi Walter,

I must have bought N9526J from the broker at Lake in the Hills then that you were working with then. I agree that she was a beautiful bird. After the accident a group of guys from KONX – Currituck Co. down in NC bought the plane and put a new fuselage on. I haven’t seen it since but hopefully we will get a chance sometime. I now own a 1979 Archer that I love as well but there will always be a special place in my heart for N9526J. She was my first aircraft that I owned and a beautiful one at that!.
