Obituary: Harry M. "June" Hoffman, 80 of Mountville, died Thursday, December 11, 2008 at Manor Care Health Services of natural causes. He was the husband of Evelyn Thatcher Hoffman with whom he celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on August 12, 2008. He was born in Stoverstown, son of the late Harry M. and Verne Harrold Hoffman. A member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. A veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean Conflict; a lifetime member and past Commander of Reese Hall VFW Post 8757, Mountville; American Legion Post 469, Wrightsville and the Elks Lodge 1074, Columbia. He also enjoyed hunting. Surviving in addition to his wife, a daughter, Denise E. Hoffman, Lancaster; one brother, Carson Hoffman, Mountville; one sister, Hazel Frey, Landisville. He was preceded in death by six brothers: Clifford, Millard, Elwood, Spurgeon, Joseph and Leonard Richard Hoffman; and one sister, Catherine Hess. The Funeral Service will be held at the Kraft-Workman Funeral Homes, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Mountville, on Monday, December 15, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Arthur L. Rettew, officiating. Interment in Mountville Cemetery with Military Honors being accorded by Reese Hall VFW Post 8757. Friends may call at the Kraft-Workman Funeral Homes, Inc., for a visitation from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Please omit flowers.
