From MennoSearch.com:
Conrad Strickler, b.c1767. He was living at Washington Co., Maryland in 1800 with his wife and two sons. His two sons were born between 1790 and 1800. He died in 1804 at Washington Cou nty, Maryland as Conrad Strigler.[39] The administrator of his estate was Joh n Wilmuth. I have not been able to place Conrad as a son in any Strickler Famil y but Abraham Strickler of Londonderry Township is the best candidate for his f ather. Henry and John Strickler who both lived in Washington Co. were probab ly his sons and apparently both Mennonites. Henry and John are not found in Was hington Co. census records. They possibly left the area after their marriage s.

From Stricklers of Pennsylvania or Other Sources:
John came from Virgi nia to Illinois in 1825. He built a brick home in1837. Mud was used for morta r. It became the first tavern that had a sign. It was also the first post off ice. John served as post master. John began a brick business in the fall of 18 36. He owned the mill and 440 acres, which was practically the whole town of M ilford.
