A Brief Sketch of the Landis Family I have only listed the fi rst four generations of the family. Please note that numbers 1,2,3,4 have not b een proven as brothers and children of Hans Landis. All records suggest this, b ut none confirm it. Also birthdates given are based on the dates of baptism whi ch normally occurred within a few months after birth. Unfortunately the structu red program which I crammed the Landis family into will not print baptisms in t he format given here. All names and dates have been confirmed by church records or Hirzel and surrounding communities. Much of the material was provided to me by Jane Evans Best, a writer for Pennsylvania Mennonite Heritage magazine. She has researched the Landis family extensively. Hans (?)
